A recent news story reminded me that I live incredibly close to a huge sunflower field.  I photographed another one two years ago, and then last year I remembered too late that I wanted to photograph them again.  I got up early yesterday morning, before sunrise, and went off in search of the field.  It was easy to find, as it is right on the greenway I typically walk on… only in the opposite direction than I usually walk.  I drove to it, as I wasn’t comfortable hiking with my camera equipment.  Luckily there was plenty of room to park right off the road, and after some warmup shots I hopped the fence (with several other rule-breaking photogs) and got close up.  I set out with the goal of photographing the flowers, but soon realized that the bees were incredibly fascinating.  I switched to macro and got to work!  I had so much fun photographing the flowers and the bees… I’ve even submitted a couple of the photographs to a photography contest.  You can see all of the shots from my magical morning HERE.
