The second day was actually the day we got on the ship.  I had never been on a cruise before, or seen anything other than photographs of cruise ships.  Seeing it for the first time was unbelievable.  We spent a full day plus the set sail day at sea, and had the very unique experience of gale force winds and 16 foot seas.  Thankfully I don’t get sea sick!  The biggest surprise though, was that Mt. Rainer decided to grace us with a view as we left Seattle.  It’s very typical that Rainer is hidden behind haze; on my first trip to Washington State, I only saw it twice and I was there for two weeks.
